Two GGH Girls With a Guitar

I went on a trip to Jamaica recently to do some construction and visit different groups of people who are less fortunate than me.

This is a portrait of two girls living at the Granville Institute for Troubled Girls in St. James. One of them is wearing my hat and strumming away on my guitar.

I found it difficult to spend one afternoon trying to relate to these girls, playing games and making music, aware that many of them have dealt with more pain and abuse in their childhood than I will ever experience, knowing that those horror stories lie beneath these bright eyes and happy smiles.
